FLICS is a membership only social club. Due to the type of licence we have we cannot charge an admittance fee so there has to be a membership fee to cover our costs which are mainly the hire of the halls and the annual licence. The current membership fees are £5 per person and £12 for a family and this is renewable every October. Films are normally shown on the last Friday of each month but occasionally if the hall is not available the date has to be changed. Future films and their dates are shown under the heading Future Showings above. This has now been changed to the First Friday of each month.
The intention was to use the Village Halls in both villages alternatively but it has turned out that it is more sensible to have the Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March and April Films in Stoke where the heating is more economic and to have the May, June, July, August and September films in Combe where it will be easier to ‘black out’ the hall on the light evenings.
Both halls have a Licenced Bar and Teas and Coffees are also available.
We have also started a DVD library for members to borrow for 50p a time. These are listed under the heading DVDs to borrow above.
In 2014 we entered a flower display in the Stokeinteignhead Flower festival in the Church. It was designed and created by Lesley Stanley with some help from Bernard. This is what it looked like
